KallOut - Search outside the box

For the people using Firefox (Best browser in my opinion), KallOut is a new addon and a convenient way to get more information about any word on any website. After selecting a word or phrase, KallOut's BestGuess system finds the most relevant results on the web for that phrase. KallOut then places these BestGuesses into a menu next to your selection.

  1. Meh...tried it...kind of useless as a firefox addon as its pretty much just like right click contextual search addons...not much value here

  2. Selection-based search accelerators are really helpful. I agree with you that the unique feature of KallOut is BestGuess. The challenge with selection-based search is that the user has to figure out which one to apply to his selection. It’s a little clunky once you get more than two or three. KallOut does a super job figuring out which accelerator you need to use for a given selection. Kallout is actually kind of spooky when it works to get a best guess.

  3. The bestguess system is indeed one of the pro's off kallout, if you don't use that, right click contextual search addons should be a great alternative indeed!
